Shooting and Archery tournaments in a controlled environment (so that no one gets injured) can be a great way to raise funds although we do not advocate holding this event anywhere but at a licensed Sports Shooting or Archery venue.
This type of fundraiser is not designed to make a lot of money but rather bring club members together and foster team spirit (more valuable than money in a lot of cases). Holding events like these helps to make your club stand out from the crowd which is a valuable asset when it comes to attracting new members as a diversity of activities show prospective members just how much fun your club can be.
Shooting or Archery clubs will charge a per head fee, you may be able to negotiate with larger groups, and the club will have to add a premium on top to raise funds but don't scare people off the event by placing too large a premium on top ($10 max). If you can attract 100 members to the event, that is a $1000 raised right there.
What red-blooded man (or woman) doesn't want to shoot a gun or pull the bowstring back? This is not your typical run-of-the-mill fundraiser and guaranteed to cause quite a stir of interest if promoted on the club's resources like the website, newsletter, and social media pages.
Consider a trophy or prize for the best shot in different categories - senior men, women, youth, juniors...- and have someone on hand to take snaps for future promotion.
The Shooting/Archery club will be responsible for their permits and use of the materials.
